Site-Based Decision Making (SBDM)
Site-Based Decision Making is a collaborative process designed to decentralize decision-making and enhance educational outcomes at each school campus. Through the partnership of principals, teachers, campus staff, district personnel, parents, and community representatives, SBDM:
-
Assesses educational outcomes for all students
-
Establishes goals and strategies to improve student achievement
-
Ensures that these strategies are implemented effectively and adjusted as needed
This team effort is central to fostering continuous improvement and student success.

Understanding School Parent Organizations (PTO)
When parents and schools work together, they create a powerful partnership focused on one shared goal: improving student achievement. But what exactly is a PTO?
A Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) provides a formal opportunity for parents and teachers to collaborate in enhancing and enriching the educational experience. In today’s environment of tight school budgets, a strong and active PTO is often a teacher’s most valuable ally in meeting curricular needs and supporting fundraising efforts.

Family Engagement Leadership Team (FELT)
What is FELT?
The Family Engagement Leadership Team (FELT) plays a vital role in planning, implementing, and monitoring family engagement activities at the school campus. FELT uses data from Home2Home Visits, Family and Community Engagement (FCE) surveys, Dallas ISD surveys, and other feedback tools to develop a strategic family engagement plan tailored to the campus.
FELT also promotes a unified, school-wide understanding of what quality family engagement looks like, ensuring consistent and meaningful involvement across the community.
