Meet the Principal
About the Principal

Yenny Ibarra is a passionate educational leader dedicated to inspiring and empowering the next generation of learners. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, to parents who immigrated from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, she developed a deep appreciation for the value of education and it's power to transform lives-values her parents instilled in her from a young age. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Texas A&M University-Commerce, and later went on to pursue a Masters of Education in Urban Educational Leadership from Southern Methodist University.
Ms. Ibarra has been in education for 14 years and has served in both Greenville ISD and Dallas ISD. In her 10 years in the classroom she has taught Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus. Her dedication and passion for teaching earned her the Teacher of the Year award in 2014 while in Greenville ISD. Ms. Ibarra joined the Dallas ISD family in 2014, where she has been able to develop her teacher and leadership skills due to the great mentors and leaders she has worked with. Ms. Ibarra has worked at various campuses in Dallas ISD - Moises E. Molina High School, Woodrow Wilson High School, and Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy - in various leadership roles including Math Instructional Coach, Math Instructional Lead Teacher, Workplace Coordinator, and P-TECH Administrator. As the P-Tech Administrator for Moises E. Molina High School, Ms. Ibarra worked collaboratively with her team to increase student achievement by significantly increasing dual credit success rates and increasing the number of students who are earning an assosciate degree from Dallas College.
Ms. Ibarra is looking forward to continuing the Lassiter Legacy of student success at Dr. Wright L. Lassiter Jr. Early College High school at El Centro College. Her leadership philosophy is based on the belief that all students can excel and thrive. Education is power and it has power to change the lives of not only our students, but their families, and our communities. Ms. Ibarra is committed to providing every student with the opportunities and resources they need to be successful while working collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure the success of all students.
