Early College HS
WHAT IS AN EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL?
An Early College High School is a high school that offers students the opportunity to earn dual credit - credit for both high school courses and college courses. College tuition fees are waived. This gives students the opportunity to earn an associate degree or up to 60 hours of college credit. Lassiter students graduate with their associate degree and their first two years of college complete. Students can choose between an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science.
Lassiter Early College High School is fully committed to providing an exceptional education to our young scholars so they may fulfill their dreams and be prepared to experience the many opportunities that life has to offer. We attribute our success to our focus on two key elements: campus culture and quality instruction. Faculty and staff combine efforts to create a nurturing environment where each student feels valued, wanted, and safe. Our small-sized classes allow faculty to support students' college coursework through tutoring, skill enrichment, and the kinds of relationships that motivate them to do great work. Those relationships create a family atmosphere, enhanced by close friendships and selected activities that supplement students' academic lives.
THE LASSITER EXPERIENCE
At Lassiter ECHS, students spend all four years of high school on the campus of Dallas College El Centro in downtown Dallas. Our students are well prepared for life at a four-year university after they graduate from Lassiter ECHS.
